A nB adj [culture, food, football, politics] néerlandais, hollandais ; [teacher, lesson, textbook, dictionary] de néerlandais.to be in Dutch with sb ○ être en disgrâce auprès de qn ; to go Dutch ○ payer chacun sa part ; to go Dutch with sb ○ faire fifty-fifty avec qn ○ ; to talk to sb like a Dutch uncle sermonner qn. hollandais is used to apply to the whole of the Netherlands as well as the Dutch language but this usage is incorrect. Strictly speaking it should be applied only to the province of the Netherlands called Hollande in French.
